What are "cookies"?
By "cookies" we mean data files, particularly text files, stored on the end devices of users intended for browsing websites. These files allow the user's device to be recognized and the website to be displayed appropriately according to their individual preferences. "Cookies" usually contain the name of the website from which they originate, the duration of their storage on the end device, and a unique number.
What do we use "cookies" for?
"Cookies" are used for:
- user authentication - they allow storing information when the user is logged in, enabling the site to show relevant information and features for them,
- customizing the content of websites to the user's preferences and optimizing the use of websites,
- creating anonymous, aggregated statistics that help understand how users interact with websites, which allows for improving their structure and content, excluding personal identification of the user.
What types of "cookies" do we use?
There are two types of "cookies" used on websites, namely "session" and "persistent":
- Persistent cookies - remain on the user's device for a specified time in the parameters of the "cookies" or until they are manually deleted by the user.
- Session cookies - remain on the user's device until they log out of the website or close the software (web browser).
The site administrator uses the following Own Cookies:
- PHPSESSID and JSESSIONID – cookies that hold the session identifier allowing user authentication
- www.mechanik-sc.pl_storage – a serialized collection of product identifiers stored in the cache by an unauthenticated user (cookie lifespan 30 days)
- www.mechanik-sc.pl_cart – a serialized collection of product identifiers and their quantities in the cart of an unauthenticated user (cookie lifespan 30 days)
- REDIRECT_URL – used to remember the address to which redirection should occur after transitioning from a site using SSL (HTTPS) to a regular one (HTTP) and vice versa
Do "cookies" contain personal data?
The site's software does not store personal data in "cookies".
Options for determining the conditions for storing or accessing "cookies"
- The user can independently and at any time change the settings regarding cookies, specifying the conditions for their storage and access by cookies to the User's Device. Changes to the settings mentioned in the previous sentence can be made by the user through the web browser settings or through the service configuration. These settings can be changed in particular to block automatic handling of cookies in the web browser settings or to inform about each placement of cookies on the User's device. Detailed information on the possibilities and methods of handling cookies is available in the software (web browser) settings.
- The user can delete cookies at any time using the available functions in the web browser they are using.
- Limiting the use of cookies may affect some functionalities available on the website of the Service.
